FIRE BAN in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness
CAMPFIRE RESTRICTIONS - Effective 12:01 am on Friday, September 16, 2011, it is prohibited to build, maintain, or use a fire or campfire, including charcoal fires, wood-burning camp stoves, and charcoal grills anywhere on national forest lands within the Superior National Forest, including the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Use of pressurized liquid gas stoves is allowed.

Any idea when the fire ban will be lifted? Will they lighten the restrictions if there's rain the next few days?
Cat, that is uncertain at this time. We haven't received much rain at all since June, and therefore it may be likely that the restrictions stay in place. They may go back to a partial ban, we'll have to wait and see, I will update you as soon as we know something different.
